Nicene Creed: Understanding our Triune God
Taught by Elder Todd Phillips
Room 43 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary

The Nicene Creed, though we recite it regularly, uses archaic phrases like “Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father.” Yet this ancient text distills core Christian beliefs that distinguished believers from their contemporaries and still do today. We’ll explore the creed’s history and meaning, using it to understand how God reveals himself as Trinity and why this matters for our worship

Mortification of Sin
Taught by Pastor John Choi
Room 44 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary

“Be killing sin or it will be killing you.” In a nutshell, John Owen’s Puritan classic Mortification of Sin unpacks this statement by explaining the destructive nature of sin and how the Christian can put it to death by the power of the Holy Spirit. We can never rid ourselves of the power of indwelling sin in this world however, we will explore a helpful roadmap to the victory over sin available to us in the gospel of Christ.

Deuteronomy
Led by Elders Glenn Timmons & Scott Creecy
Room 45 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary

Many Christians are surprised to learn that Deuteronomy is one of the most frequently quoted books in the New Testament. Why did Jesus and the Apostles teach from it so often, and what can you gain from reading it today? In this teaching series, Dr. W. Robert Godfrey connects the land, laws, and leaders of Deuteronomy to the Christian life. At first glance, this ancient book may seem irrelevant. But take a closer look, and you’ll discover how it points to the Savior and helps prepare your heart for Him. Please join us as we explore the Old Testament book of Deuteronomy.

Crisis in Confidence

Is the bible we have today trustworthy? These are basic but very important questions for every Christian to wrestle with and answer. This class will explore the answers to these questions and more.
