Children’s Ministry

Redeemer’s growing ministry to children include Sunday School, Children’s Church (during the 11 AM Service), Sunday Night programs, and several events during the year, including Vacation Bible School.

Children’s Sunday School

Each Sunday, year around, we have Sunday School for all ages. The Children are separated in to several small groups according to age/grade.

Toddler I: Start at age 2

Toddler II: For children who turn age 3 by September 1st
Pre-Kindergarten: For children who are age 4 by September 1st, but not in Kindergarten
Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade, and 6th Grade.
Depending on class sizes, we sometimes combine two grades together.
Children do not advance to the next grade level until the end of the Summer quarter.

Schedule:
9:45 am – The Toddler I class begins in their classroom.
9:45 am – Toddler II through 2nd grade will begin the Sunday School hour with 15 minutes of singing in Library/Media Room.
10:00 am – All older children classes meet from 10:00 am to 10:40 am.

Children do not advance to the next grade level until the end of the Summer quarter.

Children’s Church

Children’s Church is meant to prepare our Covenant Children for corporate worship with the rest of the family. During the 11 AM service, the leaders for Children’s Church walk through the Sanctuary to gather the children.

Ages 3 to through Kindergarten, where children graduate in the spring after completing 1st grade in school.

Children Sunday Night Programs

Sunday Evening Gatherings are a time of praise, worship, sharing, fellowship and instruction. We start in the Sanctuary as a corporate body, then at the beginning of our instruction time, the children from 3 year old through 5th grade, convene in various places around the building.

There are two segments of instruction for the children: Bells & Catechism, God’s Truth Warriors.

Bells & Catechism
~ Shorter Catechism & Music for 3-7 year olds in Room 42
Leaders: Kristi Guerra & Adult team

God’s Truth Warriors
~ Bible Memory & Shorter Catechism for 2nd-5th graders in Room 47
Leaders: Various Parent teams

Christmas Pageant

Each Advent Season, the children of Redeemer re-tell the story of our Savior’s birth.

Children from 3 years old to 5th grade participate.

VBS: Vacation Bible School

Each summer, Redeemer hosts a week long event for the community’s children.

The typical week’s event starts on Monday morning at 9 AM. Each day the children fellowship, worship God, and learn more about Jesus. The children are then divided up into smaller groups for the bulk of the morning, doing crafts, learning about missions, exercising, and learning more about God. The morning concludes with a rally. Children are dismissed at Noon.

Each year, the success of VBS hinges on a large group of volunteers. If you are interested in helping in any way, please contact Marty Basham.
