Sunday Morning Worship 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM
Pastor’s Corner April 2007
The following was published in our monthly newsletter, the Redeemer Report.
Keep the Vision!
I want to invite you to our important congregational meeting Sunday morning, April 29, at 10 am.
If you have been attending Redeemer for very long, you know I rarely make appeals for “special project” money despite many ongoing needs requiring special funding. Since we bought our first 10 acres of land in 1996, we have undertaken the following purchases and construction projects:
1996 Retrofitted existing house to be used for Church and School.
1997 Purchased adjoining 10 acres (giving us the 20 acres we now own).
1999 Construction of first building with multipurpose room and five classrooms.
2002 Construction of building with 6 classrooms, teacher room, and office space.
2005 Construction of gymnasium, four classrooms, industrial kitchen, and commons area.
The total cost for these projects has been around $4.5 million dollars. By God’s grace, our only remaining obligation is a $750,000 balance on the gymnasium project that is being serviced by our school tuition structure. In perspective, our 2007 land valuation is right near $5.7 million dollars! Humanly speaking, this has only been possible through the generous giving of our church family and many outside our church who have given sacrificially to help build and expand our school ministry (most of the money raised for the gymnasium complex came from outside the Redeemer community).
As a church, we have been operating practically debt-free for several years now. This financial position has allowed us to expand our missions giving, hire valuable ministry staff persons, and continue to support and expand our school significantly.
Just over two years ago, the Session agreed it was time to pursue the construction of a sanctuary. Led by Elder Bob Reymond, our Long Range Planning Committee worked diligently to design and recommend a building that would glorify God, possess expansion
In the Lamb,
Pastor Tony Felich
