Pastor’s Corner March 2009

The following was published in our monthly newsletter, the Redeemer Report.

Fill out your Profile!

Recently every Home Fellowship Group leader distributed a personal information sheet identifying your gifts and particular areas you are willing to serve. Please complete those sheets and return to our Church Administrator, Jon Meyers. To date we have less than 1/3 of our membership profiles completed. I cannot stress enough how important this information is in helping the various ministry leaders recruit volunteers. As you begin to serve in the areas God has specially gifted you, I promise you will experience great joy and satisfaction and will sense your importance to our church family in a greater way. Everyone at Redeemer is important and has a role to fill. Please help us to help you by filling out the sheet you received from your HFG leader or by going on to the CCB system and filling in the “My Fit” section under your personal profile.

I also wanted to alert you to several great opportunities for fellowship and service:

Crown Financial Ministries small groups are forming NOW! See Gary Nagel or Galen Mussman after morning worship on Sunday to sign up or get more information. Everyone should go through the Crown “course” as soon as they can. The first group is scheduled to begin March 16.

New Adult Sunday School classes begin on March 8th. Galen Mussman will be teaching “A Body of Divinity”, Bob Albright will be teaching “Christ and Culture: Revisited”, and Bob Reymond will be teaching through the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5-7.

Second Service coming soon! We are working on plans to begin a second morning worship service at 8:30am on Palm Sunday, April 5. This is not finalized yet as there are some logistics to work out, however it will happen soon, Lord willing.

Sunday Evening Gathering is the perfect way to end the Lord’s Day in the Lord’s House with the Lord’s people. Pastor Nathan and I basically alternate months teaching. I am teaching through the Attributes of God while Pastor Nathan is teaching through the Parables of Jesus. Don’t miss a special report from Nathan and Janey Currey about their recent mission trip to Bulgaria on Sunday night, March 22.

A Day of Prayer at Redeemer is scheduled for May 3. For those who wish to participate, we’ll meet in the sanctuary at 1pm and pray until 6pm. Each hour will feature a different prayer focus and there will be plenty of time for individual prayer throughout the afternoon. At the top of every hour we’ll meet in the sanctuary, so you can come at the top of any hour if you can’t attend all day.

Summer Work Crews are the way we practice good stewardship over the wonderful piece of property God has blessed us with. By forming several teams to work on Saturdays doing lawn care and other necessary maintenance around the facility and property, we save thousands of dollars as a church. Will you please consider signing up on one of the work crews? The commitment is not significant, approximately 4 Saturday mornings between April and October. Many hands make light work and the fellowship is tremendous. Sign up after church this Sunday!

May God bless you and your family as you week to be faithful stewards of the gifts God has given you.

In the Lamb,
Pastor Tony Felich
