Pastor’s Corner March 2011

The following was published in our monthly newsletter, the Redeemer Report.

As part of Redeemer’s current capital stewardship campaign I have been visiting the various home fellowship groups to share Redeemer’s vision, answer questions, and collect feedback on our ministry efforts. I have thoroughly enjoyed each of the five meetings I have been too so far. When this campaign is over, I plan on making yearly visits to the various home fellowship groups to share ministry updates and gain congregational feedback in the small group setting home fellowship groups afford. Beyond the particular goal of paying off our mortgage and enhancing the ministry God has given Redeemer, I can see several ways this campaign exercise is helping our members become more aware and involved. As you probably know, there are several teams of RPC members working on different components of the campaign. One of the teams is devoted to organizing special prayer efforts. This prayer team has already organized a 24 hour prayer vigil that happened last weekend. There will be another coming up before the end of the campaign. When the campaign is over, we need to keep up such organized vigils for the ministry of RPC in general and perhaps special prayer meetings to focus on a particular issue. The prayer team has provided us with a campaign verse and prayer that I will include here:

Include: Campaign logo and Campaign Prayers:

Campaign Verse

Ps 72:19 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things. Blessed be his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory! Amen and Amen!

Campaign Prayer

O Lord our God, praise, glory and honor be unto You. We see the
outpouring of your blessings, mercies, grace and faithfulness, and our hearts are filled with thanksgiving.

O Lord please hear our prayers and guide us. We, the congregation of
Redeemer, desire to glorify your name. Please extend to us your wisdom and discernment in this season as we seek your will concerning the many resources you have given us to promote the gospel.

Lord, by your Holy Spirit reveal to us any error in our ways that we may repent and be more like Jesus, reaching many with the love of our mighty savior. Put upon our hearts to seek first the kingdom of God, to become a praying people, and to live humbly before you knowing that all we have comes from You.

Amen
