The Relationship between Joy and Sin

We have fellowship with God through the sin-covering blood of Christ. However, we must remember that sin hinders the experience of this fellowship (a.k.a. joy)

What is Joy?
What is Sin?

I. You are called to maintain active fellowship with God (6-7)
A. Remember the Standard
B. Walk in the Light, not in darkness
C. Walking in the Light gives proof of your fellowship and promotes endurance to persevere

II. Be honest about your sin (8-10)
A. Come to grips with your inherent depravity
B. Confess your sins
C. Confession gives proof of your fellowship and promotes endurance to persevere.

III. You have an Advocate with the Father! (2:1-2)
A. Jesus Christ the Righteous
B. The "propitiation" for our sins....What's that?
C. Also for the sins of the whole world?
