Sunday School Classes (Fall 2025)

Meet the Pastors
Led by Pastors Tony and Nathan
Room 42 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary

For six weeks of the quarter, our pastors introduce visitors and regular attendees to Redeemer, covering topics such as the history, leadership, theology, and ministries of Redeemer.

Hebrews
Taught by Elders Glenn Timmons and Mike Preston
Room 43 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary

Most readers find Hebrews among the most challenging books of the New Testament. Its train of thought is clothed in language and allusions drawn from the cultic background of the Old Testament, and the obvious questions about authorship, audience, purpose, and dating have no verifiable answers. Despite these problems and the resulting interpretive challenges, the book makes a significant contribution by addressing what must be regarded as the most important question constantly facing humanity: How can we approach God? Hebrews presents the most thoroughly detailed and convincing answer to this problem of any New Testament book while simultaneously providing the clearest discussion of the Christian approach to the Old Testament of any New Testament writer.

Confessing the Faith
Taught by Elders Lance Kinzer, and Todd Phillips, and Pastor John Choi
Room 44 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary

In Confessing the Faith, Chad Van Dixhoorn offers a fresh look at The Westminster Confession of Faith. This accessible, biblical, and thoughtful work digests years of study and teaching into bite-sized sections. Van Dixhoorn’s work is historical and practical in its focus. It deliberately presents readers with more than another survey of Reformed theology; it offers a guide to a particular text, considers its original proof-texts, and seeks to deepen our understanding of each paragraph of the Confession.

Who Is the Holy Spirit?
Led by a rotation of Elders
Room 45 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary

Although the Holy Spirit is sometimes the forgotten Person of the Trinity, His presence and work is found throughout redemptive history. In this twelve-message series, Dr. Sinclair Ferguson traces the work of the third person of the Trinity through Scripture—from creation to the work of Christ to His dwelling in our hearts today. Along the way, he sheds light on the vital role the Holy Spirit serves. Dr. Ferguson’s goal is to help us know the Holy Spirit as a person, in addition to knowing of His power and work within us.

The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment
Taught by Elder Galen Mussman
Room 46 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary

English Puritan Jeremiah Burroughs (1599-1646) explains how in his classic “The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment”. Burroughs emphasizes that true contentment comes from an inward peace and submission to God’s will. He argues that external circumstances should not determine the condition of one’s heart. Instead, true satisfaction is found in God’s providence. The Apostle Paul said that he had “Learned to be content”. By God’s grace, we can too.
