What Did Jesus Do?
Facilitated by a Rotation of Elders
Room 44 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary

When Jesus approached John the Baptist to be baptized, John initially objected. But Jesus responded by saying that it was necessary “to fulfill all righteousness.” (Matt. 3:15) Why was this act-and others like it-so important? Most Christians understand the importance of Christ’s atoning sacrifice and the significance of his resurrection. But how many comprehend the significance of the life Jesus led prior to the crowning weeks of the passion? In this teaching series, Dr. R.C. Sproul uncovers what it means for Christ to be the “second Adam”-and what this means for believers today.

Learning to Love the Psalms
Led by Elders Glenn Timmons & Scott Creecy
Room 45 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary

Some thoughts expressed by our early church fathers regarding the Psalms speak to the significance of knowing and learning to live in the Psalms. The great Athanasius wrote “ I believe that a man can find nothing more glorious than these psalms; for they embrace the whole life of man, the affections of his mind, and the motions of his soul. To praise and glorify God, he can select a psalm suited to every occasion, and thus will find that they were written for him.” John Calvin in the preface to his commentary on the Psalms said: “I have been accustomed to call this book, I think not inappropriately, ‘An Anatomy of all Parts of the Soul’ for there is not an emotion of which anyone can be conscious that is not here represented as in a mirror”. The Psalms teach us how to express our emotions to God in all the circumstances of our lives.

Attributes of God by AW Pink
Led by Elder Galen Mussman
Room 46 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary

The Apostle Paul declared that for a Christian’s walk to be worthy, he must grow in the knowledge of God.  Peter affirmed that God has provided everything we need for life and godliness. How?  Through our knowledge of God.  Pink wrote this book to help meet the greatest need of every human creature: a spiritual and saving knowledge of God.
