Redeemer is part of the Presbyterian Church in America (called the “PCA”), an evangelical denomination in the Reformed tradition. Our church is governed by a board of elders called the “Session”. The Session is made up of lay elders (called “ruling elders”) and pastors (called “teaching elders). Together these men make up the Session and lead the church collectively.
Our pastors have been ordained by the Heartland Presbytery of the PCA which is made up of 9 churches in Kansas and part of Missouri.
The elders are chosen by the members of the church based on the biblical qualifications given in Titus and 1 Timothy. The elders are the shepherds of the church.
Redeemer currently has nine ruling elders and two teaching elders on the Session.
