Paul’s second epistle to the church in Thessalonica was written from Corinth within a few months of the first. The occasion seems to be to correct their wrong views , coming from fake letters of false teachers, of the second coming of Christ and the errors of life growing out of it. It may be that they had misunderstood his own teaching to be that the day of the Lord was already at hand , and Paul wrote to reassure those terrified by that thought. He also wrote this epistle to edify and strengthen them in the midst of great persecution, and to address the issue of some members of the church refusing to earn their own living.
A Man Named Martin
Taught by a rotation of Elders
Room 44 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary
The life of Martin Luther is one of resolute conviction and steadfast faith. His contributions to the reform of the medieval Church are unparalleled. He courageously stood against unbiblical teaching and sounded the clarion call of salvation by grace through faith. With iron willed resolve he refused to back down in the face of public abuse and threats on his life. This documentary will examine the life and teaching of this great reformer. The program gives important historical background and explains the key doctrines expounded by Luther: With tenacity and bravery, Martin Luther inspired a Reformation that reverberates throughout the centuries.
Taught by Elder Steve Baker
Room 45 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary
The Puritans loved the Bible, and dug into it in depth. Also, they loved the Lord Jesus, who is of course the Bible’s focal figure; they circled round him, centered on him, studied minutely all that Scripture had to say about him, and constantly, conscientiously, exalted him in their preaching, praises, and prayers. Mark Jones, an established expert on many aspects of Puritan thought, also loves the Bible and its Christ, and the Puritans as expositors of both; and out of this triune love he has written a memorable unpacking of the truth about the Savior according to the classic Reformed tradition, and the Puritans supremely.
Broken Down House
Taught by Pastor Nathan Currey
Room 46 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary
Sin has ravaged the house that God created. This world sits slumped, disheveled, in pain, groaning for the restoration that can only be accomplished by the hands of the Builder. The bad news is that we are living in the midst of the restoration process. The good news is that the divine Builder will not relent until his house is made new again.
Meet the Pastor
Taught by Pastor Tony
Room 47 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary
The first six weeks of the quarter, Pastor Tony introduces visitors and regular attendees to Redeemer, covering topics such as the history, leadership, theology, and ministries of Redeemer.
Taught by Jeremy Swygard
Room 48 in the Lower Level of the Sanctuary
God has presented Redeemer with a unique opportunity: a chance to build up His church together with a group of believers from a foreign land who dwell among us. Come join us on the journey of loving God and loving neighbor by building unity on sound doctrine. We pray God will do this in a cross-cultural and bi-lingual (yet mostly English) environment as we study Ephesians.
