Redeemer’s Mission and Vision: Foundation and Outworking (Part 1) (Matthew 28:19-20, Colossians 1:28-29)

The Mission of Redeemer is to mature as a community of Christians who love to worship their God, study His Word, and proclaim His gospel to the World.
I. God desires the worship of all people. – Psalm 67:4
II. God Redeems His people so they may give Him glory – Isaiah 43:7
III. We, his people, want what God wants, and so pursue the spread of His Gospel in order to make disciples. – Matthew 20:19
IV. We minister together making disciples, so more people will worship God. Discipleship means the process of maturing spiritually, in Christ. – Colossians 1:27

Matthew 28:19-20

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (ESV)

Colossians 1:28-29

28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. 29 For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me. (ESV)
