The purpose of Women In the Church (WIC) is to glorify God by providing opportunities to fulfill the Titus 2 mandate: But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. (Tit 2:1, 3-5)
The mission of Redeemer WIC is to encourage and enhance each woman’s spiritual maturity. By nurturing one another, we seek to glorify God as we assist in meeting the needs of the women and our covenant family. All women at Redeemer belong to WIC.
Each year, there are a variety of events that are sponsored by WIC, for the women of the church. Some of the regular events:
- Monthly Craft Night at either homes or the church
- Bible Study (Currently four different classes, Tue Morn, Wed Night, Thur Morn, and Sat Morn)
- Baby and Bridal Showers
- Sisters-in-Christ Brunches and Luncheons
- Annual Retreat
Also, WIC serves the church body in several ways. Some of those include:
- Provides coffee for Worship services
- Provide and serve food for the following events: Summer Cookouts; Annual Chili Supper; Easter Brunch; Church-wide meals
- Plan, organize and support the Angel Tree ministry at Redeemer
